Confabulation is the production of fabricated, distorted or misinterpreted memories about oneself or the world without the conscious intention to deceive. It’s often seen in individuals with certain brain disorders where the brain fills in memory gaps with imagined or made-up experiences. While, “Verification” is the act of establishing the truth, accuracy, or validity of something. Thus, “Verification” is the nearly opposite meaning of “Confabulation.”
