On Dec 23, 2021, the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council — headed by Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin — approved the construction of the Sukkur-Hyderabad motorway on a build-operate-transfer mode at the cost of Rs191bn. The Hyderabad-Sukkur motorway project is part of the Sindh package announced by Prime Minister Imran Khan in April last year.
