Explanation

Pakistan officially operationalized Gwadar Port for Afghan transit trade on April 21, 2020. The government announced the use of the port for landlocked Afghanistan’s imports of wheat, sugar, and fertilizers under the Afghanistan-Pakistan Transit Trade Agreement (APTTA 2010). The first major operational milestone took place in May 2020 when the cargo ship Sibulk Tradition berthed at Gwadar, offloading 16,000 tonnes of urea that was subsequently transported to Afghanistan via sealed trucks.
