Explanation

The Faraizi movement was started and led by Haji Shariatullah in 1819. The movement extolled Muslims of Bengal to give up un-Islamic practices and act upon their duties as Muslims. The Faraizi movement was widely received in the districts of Dhaka, Faridpur, Barisal, Mymensingh and Comilla.
